The fashion designer can proudly say that her once-struggling brand is now turning a handsome profit.
In October, the designer told French Vogue that nearly 15 years after launching his fashion brand, his eponymous brand was finally turning a profit.
‘This is just the beginning. I have a lot of ambition and will work hard to achieve my goals. I never wait for things to fall into my lap,” she said.
“It’s such an exciting time. We’ve made a profit again this year! This takes time, especially for independent brands. My perfumes are not licensed – I own them.
“Now that we have solidified the foundation of the house, the real construction will begin.”
In an interview with industry bible Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) in March to celebrate the news, her brand’s investor David Verhassen shed a rare spotlight on the inner workings of Victoria’s empire.
He said revenue had increased by 42% to £58m and the former Spice Girl will eat up the words of many critics when the business files its 2022 financial year results in December. I predicted that it would happen.
In January 2023, Victoria Beckham Holdings’ accounts revealed a loss of £5,887,036 in 2021, down from £8,581,944 in 2020.
The figures mean the company’s overall losses since its founding in 2008 amounted to £66.3m, and no dividends were paid to the company’s directors, including Victoria and her husband David.
Its luxury fashion business is expanding into Europe and the Middle East, and the brand is also expanding into new products, including leather goods and the launch of its VB body series, according to its annual report.
Despite huge losses, Beckham’s global empire has reportedly doubled its profits.
Despite the pandemic, both men earned £11.6 million in the year ending December 2020, compared with £4.5 million in 2019, according to annual accounts filed at Companies House in London.
Accounts filed in 2021 say auditors have “serious doubts” about the Victorian fashion company’s ability to continue operating after it was reported to have racked up more than £46 million in debt since its inception. I warned you that there is.
Friends of the star say Victoria was determined at the time to continue with the company, even though her detractors dismissed it as a vanity project.
One said: “This is what gives Victoria her identity, she loves it, and despite her obvious obstacles, she is a grafter and is very passionate about it.” said.
