A new selfie hotspot called ‘Kissing Bridge’, where couples can share romantic moments against the backdrop of Vietnam’s sunset, was launched last week.
The result of a collaboration between Italian architect Marco Casamonti and luxury tourism development company Sun Group, the bridge is located in the southern part of Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island, famous for its beautiful beaches.
The bridge is over 800 meters (0.5 miles) long and consists of two separate parts.
The design was inspired by Michelangelo’s classic fresco The Creation of Adam in the Sistine Chapel, where the two halves of the bridge are in full contact, similar to the index finger in the painting. not.
Instead, the north and south sections are only 30 centimeters (12 inches) apart. This means that the person you were kissing previously had to sit down, one on each side of him, and then lean in dramatically for a big kiss.
According to Sun Group, the distance between the bridges has been calculated so precisely that on January 1st of each year, the sun falls directly into the gap between the halves of the bridge.
The bridge’s Vietnamese name, “Cau Hong,” means “proposal” for visitors who want to ask questions.
The bridge is located in Sunset Town on Phu Quoc Island, in Kien Giang Province, southern Vietnam, a 40-minute flight from Ho Chi Minh City.
