TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — An attraction that’s been there since Walt Disney World’s grand opening is set to close this month.
Located near the Country Bear Jamboree, the Frontierland Shooting Arcade opened on October 1, 1971, at the same time as the Magic Kingdom.
At the Wild West-themed shooting range, guests of all ages can aim at targets with silly sayings on them and shoot infrared beams to take them down.
Disney is Nexstar’s Scott Gustin The arcade is set to close permanently on June 23 and be replaced with a lounge for Disney Vacation Club members, with construction expected to begin later this year.
The new lounge is described as a “pioneer-spirited space” inspired by “a bygone era of exploration and adventure. It will be the third DVC space in the park and the first at Magic Kingdom.
