According to the official Walt Disney World calendar, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is scheduled to reopen on July 1, 2024.
The latest reopening date is about a month earlier than the previous plan of July 27, 2024.
On July 1, 2024, hours of operation will be 8:30 AM to 9 AM for Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests taking advantage of early entry and 9 AM to 9 PM for all other guests.
The closure of the Aerosmith-themed roller coaster began on January 8, 2024. Disney also confirmed that the closure was for routine refurbishment and that no changes would be made to the theming.
Permits for the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster project were filed with Adena Corporation. Adena has worked on several Disney projects, including TRON Lightcycle Run and the recent Epcot redevelopment. Adena was also the contractor for the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster renovation, which took place over a three-month period in early 2023.
The ride has experienced long hiatuses in recent years, and this renovation could address some of those issues and continue the progress made in 2023.
