Google will air another Pixel commercial during the Super Bowl. Pixel 8 and 8 Pro Super Bowl ads focus on the use of cameras with guided frames.
Updated on 2/2: “Javier in Frame” (Audio explanation) is currently live. Google’s 2024 Pixel Super Bowl commercial starts soon. “Capture life, no matter what your experience,” is its tagline, but its official name is “Guided Frames powered by Google AI.” It was created by Google Creative Lab in collaboration with his GUT.
Original 1/31: Google introduced Guided Frames on Pixel 7, allowing people who are blind or visually impaired to hear audio cues such as “Move your phone down,” “One face is in the frame,” and “Long “Press to take photo”) to take a selfie. , haptic feedback, and high-contrast animations.
Pixel 8 introduced rear camera support. In addition to faces, Guided Frame can now recognize objects such as dogs and food/meals.
This Super Bowl ad is “about a blind man and his girlfriend, and we follow their journey together as they grow closer together.”Shot by blind director Adam Morse and shared by Made by Google Behind the scenes today.
This blind man can use this Guided Frame AI feature to capture all these important moments throughout the relationship.
Google refers to Guided Frame as an “AI feature” considering that object detection is at work.
Google AI powers Guided Frame to detect objects and send them back to the user.
Although a Pixel 8 Pro with guide frames enabled is used by the actors, the actual ad was shot using a regular professional camera. Vaseline was applied to the lenses “to give a basis for what this expression would look like.”
I do my best to translate the experiences of blind people that feel authentic to me in a way that people with sight can understand.
Adam Morse
Expect the full Pixel 8 ad to be released during Super Bowl LVIII (San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs) on Sunday, February 11th.
This follows the 2022 Pixel 6 Real Tone commercial and last year’s Pixel 7 Magic Eraser clip. It remains to be seen whether other parts of the company will advertise.
