Stunning 7 bedroom home located in pebble beach, Californiaand Owned by the founder of WeatherTech hit the market for a record $39 million.
David McNeil, CEO of an auto parts retailer, has listed his nearly 7,500-square-foot home with a putting green in a gated community.
The home is located next door to another of McNeil’s properties in Pebble Beach, said listing agent Tim Allen of Coldwell Banker Realty.
If the home sells for the asking price, it could set a record for a beach resort community, as the previous highest sale price was $36.3 million last year.
The home was built in 2000, and McNeil has completely renovated it since then.
McNeil said Mansion Global: “If we can keep it that way, it’s phenomenal. I love it. On the other side of the coin, let’s see if we can find a great family that wants to live in this house. It’s a phenomenal house and a great family… It’s worth it.”
Both the interior and exterior of the home are decorated with amenities and great views of the area.
Allen said there will be six tall stone fireplaces, a billiards room and a wine room that can hold 1,000 bottles.
The kitchen is equipped with a large stove and range, long island and space for a table.
The large master closet offers abundant storage space and is illuminated by accent lights along the shelves and drawers.
The wine room is covered in wood and features custom slots that allow you to place an infinite amount of bottles. There is a door with a touchpad lock on one of the walls and there is also a minibar for storage and drinks preparation.
Some bedrooms have private fireplaces with plenty of natural light and access to patios.
The entrance is illuminated by a large circular abstract light fixture with exposed dark wood beams on the top and sides.
One of the bedrooms has a private island with room for a sink, cabinets, and appliances.
The laundry room is equipped with 3 washers, 3 dryers, and a countertop with sink.
The billiards room features a pool table, cozy seating, and exercise equipment with great views of the patio.
The exterior of the home is approximately 3.16 acres and includes a BBQ area, multiple fire pits, a hot tub, a large lush putting green, and a private boardwalk that leads to the beach and woods.
In addition to its own putting green, the impressive entertainment area also includes a bocce court, which McNeil said he added because he loves bocce courts.
The front of the house features a large driveway with a central fountain, and the beach house has a three-car garage attached.
McNeil also redid the roof with copper and created a custom front door. He declined to give the exact price of the renovations, which were made several months ago, but said the total cost was more than $10 million.
He said he usually uses the property as a guesthouse and sometimes stays there himself.
according to realtor.comAs of November 2023, the median market price of homes in Pebble Beach is $5.4 million.
The median home sale price was $2.9 million, and the median listing price per square foot was $1,400.
CEO founded WeatherTech in 1989. He founded the company from his home in the Hills of Clarendon, Illinois because he was “not satisfied with the quality of his existing automotive floor mats.”
Initially, the mats were imported from England, but McNeil soon decided to move all production to the United States in 2007, opening a facility outside Chicago.
Car maps are custom-made for any make and model and are meant to keep your car clean from dirt, snow, and any other contaminants.
Each mat is made from an “advanced rubber-like” material known as a thermoplastic elastomer and is 100% recyclable.
