Orlando, Florida – Timeshare Resort Companies Westgate Resort A company spokesman said on Friday that the 357 jobs would be cut to “improve operational efficiency.”
of The Florida Department of Commerce said it had notified Westgate. The state government was notified of the layoffs on June 28, with all workers expected to lose their jobs by June 30.
The jobs are within Westgate’s marketing and operational support teams, according to the company.
“Team members affected by these changes will be offered the opportunity to apply for open positions across the company,” the company said in a statement.
David Siegel founded the Orlando-based timeshare company in 1982 and now operates 22 resorts across the U.S. He recently retired as chief financial officer.
