Apple’s iPhone-focused Fall 2023 event is set to begin in the next few days. We’ve been hearing rumors about what to expect for months now, so we know a lot about what’s to come.
This guide covers everything you can expect Apple to debut at its Wonderlust event on September 12th.
Apple will continue its four-model iPhone lineup in 2023, with the standard iPhone 15 model coming in 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch sizes, similar to last year. The “iPhone 15” and “iPhone 15” Plus look almost identical to the iPhone 14 and “iPhone 14” Plus with one big exception: the USB-C port.
iPhone 15 models will replace the Lightning port with USB-C, allowing iPhones, iPads and Macs to share chargers and charging cables. Apple is making this change in response to European regulatory changes that require electronic devices to have standardized charging ports, but USB-C technology will be implemented worldwide.
Last year’s iPhone still had a notch, but the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus no longer have it. Instead, the new iPhone will adopt Dynamic Islands, which Apple first used on his iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, to free up more display space.
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will feature Dynamic Islands, but other display technologies like ProMotion refresh rate and always-on display will be exclusive to Pro models. There is one other small design change. This has to do with the glass back. Frosted glass has historically been a feature of the Pro iPhone lineup, but the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are expected to have frosted glass backs rather than glossy glass backs.
Apple is planning new colors for the iPhone 15 lineup, with previous rumors suggesting blue, a coral color that looks like an orange-pink cross, a pale greenish yellow, white, and black. ing. Color-matched braided USB-C cables were seen for each new “iPhone.”
Camera technology has been significantly updated, with the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus featuring a 48-megapixel main camera with an f/1.6 aperture for higher resolution images and better performance in low-light environments. quality will be improved. It will also have a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, which is the same camera from the non-updated “iPhone 14” model.
A new Qualcomm 5G modem chip is expected, which could offer better signal, lower latency, and better power efficiency. Apple is developing his new A17 chip for the iPhone 15 Pro model, but the standard iPhone 15 model will have the A16 chip that currently powers the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.
So far, we’ve heard no rumors of improved battery life, Wi-Fi speeds, or RAM for the standard “iPhone 15” model, and we expect the price to stay the same.

Most of this year’s exciting new changes and feature additions are coming to the Pro iPhone models instead of the standard iPhone 15 models. Similar to last year, two Pro iPhones are expected: the 6.1-inch “iPhone 15 Pro” and the 6.7-inch “iPhone 15 Pro” Max.
The “iPhone 15 Pro” model is expected to get some minor design updates, with Apple introducing noticeably thinner, curved bezels and a new titanium material for the chassis. Instead of stainless steel, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max feature titanium in colors such as silver, titanium gray, black, and dark blue. Titanium has a matte finish than stainless steel, and titanium is lighter than steel, so the iPhone 15 Pro model could be 10 percent lighter.
There were rumors that Apple was experimenting with volume button changes, but the volume button update didn’t work and there are no changes. However, Apple is expected to replace the mute switch with a multi-function mute button like the action button on the Apple Watch Ultra.
The iOS 17 code suggests that the button will allow you to toggle Do Not Disturb, launch the camera, turn on the flashlight, activate shortcuts, turn on focus mode, launch a translation app, start voice memos, and more. I’m here.
Like the iPhone 15 models, the iPhone 15 Pro models will also feature USB-C, although the Pro models are rumored to support faster USB 3.2 (20Gb/s) or Thunderbolt (40Gb/s) transfer speeds. Masu. Some models of the iPhone 15 (possibly the Pro model) are rumored to support charging speeds up to 35W.
Apple has made some minor improvements to the wide-angle and telephoto cameras on both Pro models to improve low-light performance, but we don’t expect any improvements to the main 48MP camera. It has been. iPhone 15 Pro Max adds the biggest new camera feature: periscope zoom for the telephoto lens. Optical zoom is currently limited to 3x, but with periscope technology, Apple is expected to bump that up to 5x or 6x zoom.
The standard iPhone 15 model uses the A16 chip, but the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will have the A17 chip built on the new 3-nanometer process. This will be the first chip in years built on a new node and should bring noticeable performance and efficiency gains. You can expect better battery life.
Apple plans to use the same 5G Qualcomm chip across the iPhone 15 lineup, and there are also rumors of a new ‘U2’ ultra-wideband chip that will be integrated with the Vision Pro headset launching next year. Pro models come with Wi-Fi 6E, the latest and fastest Wi-Fi protocol operating in the 6GHz band. With up to 2TB of storage available, the Pro model comes with his 8GB RAM, up from his 6GB on last year’s Pro model.
Rumor has it that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will have a richer feature set and a higher price. Apple plans to raise prices, but the amount has not yet been disclosed, according to multiple sources. The new model could be $100 more, with the iPhone 15 Pro starting at $1,099 and the iPhone 15 Pro Max starting at $1,199.

There’s a new Apple Watch coming this year, but there’s not much to expect from this iterative update. Don’t expect any new design changes or new health-related features.
In fact, this refresh focuses on the internals, mostly on the new processors. It will be equipped with a new S9 chip built on A15 technology, which will be the first notable update to the Apple Watch chip since the Apple Watch Series 6.
Apple Watch Series 9 offers improved performance and potentially longer battery life. The Apple Watch Series 9 will also feature an updated optical heart rate sensor and a new U2 ultra-wideband chip that offers better positional accuracy.
The aluminum version of the Series 9 could come in a new pinkish color, and Apple could be planning to introduce a new type of band with woven fabric and a magnetic buckle. There are also rumors that leather bands will be phased out in favor of greener options.
For more information on the Series 9 and what we can expect, check out our Apple Watch Series 9 guide.
The Apple Watch Ultra is set to get a facelift in 2023, but no new features are expected. The device will have the same S9 chip that powers the Apple Watch Series 9, an updated Ultra Wideband chip, and a new heart rate sensor, but if other features are planned, I don’t know about them.
A leaker suggests that the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra could be lighter than the first, but it’s not yet clear if this is accurate. One of the changes could be new color options, with rumors suggesting a black titanium shade.
See our Apple Watch Ultra Guide for more information.
USB-C AirPods
The AirPods Pro 2 will be updated with a USB-C charging case that replaces the current Lightning case, a change that coincides with the iPhone 15 adopting a USB-C port instead of a Lightning port.
No other hardware changes are included, so expect the same AirPods Pro 2 as before. However, the charging port has been updated.
new iphone case
According to multiple sources, Apple won’t be making leather cases for the iPhone 15 lineup, but will instead use more eco-friendly materials.
There are rumors that the new material is a woven material and is called “FineWoven”, but it is unknown at this time if that is correct.
other possibilities
Some fall events have wildcard products that may or may not be renewed in September, but there’s not much to look forward to this year other than iPhones and Apple Watches.
11th generation iPad
There are no rumors about a new low-cost iPad, but Apple has historically updated its tablets annually. An 11th generation iPad is possible, but not guaranteed.
probably coming later this year
The iPhone 15 models and Apple Watch Series 9 may not be the last products we see in 2023. Apple is rumored to be planning to introduce the M3 13-inch MacBook Air, and the first M3 Macs could be introduced by the end of the year. M3 13-inch MacBook Pro, M3 Mac mini. bloomberg‘s Marc Garman says the M3 Mac is coming this year, but Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the M3 Mac won’t be announced until 2024, so it’s unclear what will happen.
If the new Macs arrive in 2023, Apple could hold an event in October or release the M3 Macs later in the year via a press release.
bloomberg‘s Marc Garman also believes the new iPad Air could be released in 2023. If so, perhaps he could make an appearance in October.
hasn’t come yet
Other than the 11th generation iPad, no other iPads will be updated in 2023. The iPad Pro and iPad mini will be updated, but not until 2024.
