According to experts, wearing white to a wedding is one of the worst things a person can do.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Liven It Up Events to bring this amazing music to the world,” said Anthony Navarro, creative director of Liven It Up Events. knot It’s an “unspoken rule” that guests can’t wear white to weddings, wedding planner Brandi Hammerstone said. Martha Stewart That white is “her color of the day.”
“You don’t want to stand with a bride and look like you’re trying to look like a bride at someone else’s wedding,” she says. “Even if that’s not your intention, people (and probably the bride) will think that. Who wants to be ‘that’ person?”
But while it’s a cardinal sin, is it really justifiable to give someone a glass of wine in their lap? TikTok content creator Sylvia Gordon went viral after sharing a mother of the bride’s reaction to her daughter’s outfit at her wedding.
“Targeted attack”
Her daughter attended the wedding as her boyfriend’s plus one guest, but didn’t know anyone there.
“At a wedding, the bride’s mother walked past her daughter with a glass of wine, splashed it all over her dress and then carried on without saying a word. It was clearly a targeted attack,” she said.
She said this caused her daughter to cry and her boyfriend poured wine down her shirt to make her feel better.
@themedicarefamily Generation X, right?
“My friend, this is something that my generation would have handled differently,” she added. “Am I wrong? I’m not condoning violence, but I am saying that my generation would not have spilled a drink on their shirt. I am very confused about this new generation.”
Many in the comments section wondered if there was more to the story, speculating that her daughter may have been wearing white, so in a follow-up video, Silvia shared a photo of the dress in question, which was a deep gold color.
@themedicarefamily It must have been a case of mistaken identity, but still, not the right way to handle a situation, especially at a wedding!
“They’re good people and you don’t want them to know,” she said. “Why would you tell them that their mother is a psycho? If she was a psycho, she probably already knows. Why bother them?”
TikTok users also shared their own wedding drama in the comments section.
“The same thing happened to me, but I was wearing sage green,” one woman recalled. “I went along with her energy and poured my drink all over her dress.”
Another said: “Someone wore a yellow dress to my wedding and people later said they were wearing a white dress. Why can’t people tell the difference?”
Sylvia did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Daily Dot via TikTok comments and Instagram direct messages.
