One woman says she’s taking a break from the dating game after enduring a date with a man in Atlanta whose boyfriend ruined the date.
In a video of almost 5 minutes TikTok creator Ashton (who has been viewed over 5 million times)@realashtonb) told a story about going on a date that ended in a full-blown argument.
The Daily Dot reached out to Ashton via Instagram direct message for more information. In the video, Ashton talked about how she met a man she found attractive after they stared at each other many times at the mall.
“Maybe the third time we passed each other, he said, ‘Excuse me.’ I think you’re very beautiful. I’d like to take you on a date,” Ashton said.
Ashton said he agreed and they exchanged contact information. Eventually, the day of the date arrived. According to Ashton, the date started off well with good conversation and good vibes. She said she also received flowers on their date. But at some point, her date answered his call and things changed.
“He picked up his phone and the energy just shifted out of nowhere,” Ashton said.
She said her date ran into the bathroom, stayed there for a while, and then came back “very fidgety,” Ashton explained. Ashton said she then noticed a group of men entering the restaurant.
“When I said it, he was adjusting himself so he wouldn’t be seen,” Ashton said. “Girl, I say, he adjusted his body so he wouldn’t be seen. I’m like, ‘Okay, maybe this is the strategy.’ Maybe he is in danger. ”
@realashtonb I don’t go on dates anymore.
Mr Ashton said he had visual access to the bar and one of the men in the group spoke about how his partner was out with other people, despite the man knowing his partner’s location. I realized that. Meanwhile, Ashton’s date continues to try to hide. Then the date ran to the bathroom again. However, this time, the man Ashton was eavesdropping on ran into the bathroom while complimenting Ashton’s appearance. Then suddenly, she said, a whole group of men ran into the bathroom with security guards.
“Mr. Date and Mr. Good Good Sis came out of the bathroom and were arguing,” Ashton said, adding that the man started abusing her date.
Ashton said he paid the bill and hurried out of the restaurant after hearing that the person he was dating wasn’t actually single.
“I would say they’re out on the streets going for it,” Ashton emphasized.
In a follow-up video, Ashton revealed that her date and her boyfriend got into a car and left, and that she ordered an Uber to leave.
“I’m going to block his number,” Ashton said. “I don’t know if he tried to contact me because we don’t talk anymore.”
WalletHub conducts researchcompares “more than 182 U.S. cities across 35 key indicators of dateability,” including online dating opportunities and the price of a meal for two. The publication ranks Atlanta his fourth. However, Atlanta commenters seem to have little agreement that Atlanta is an ideal place for a date.
User Jas (@jasmine_bri) said, “Even Tyler Perry couldn’t have come up with something this nasty.”
“Atlanta needs to be quarantined until we know what’s going on,” user Marilia (@marilia.cloud) said.
“When you meet someone in Atlanta, first ask them: Do you have a girlfriend, boyfriend, wife, husband, or someone you think you’re with?” user John (@crazyj87) joked. I did.
