Xbox’s online servers are down today, July 2, with some users reporting issues connecting to games and services on the platform.
At first, nothing was said, Official Xbox Server Status Website There’s a “major outage” with the sign-in service, and while it varies across large server networks like Xbox’s, many players are unable to log in. Microsoft’s own game account Microsoft acknowledged the server trouble and commented, “We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
According to an Xbox support account, Microsoft is “aware that some users have been disconnected from Xbox Live.” The company says it is “investigating” the issue. Just after 1 PM PST/4 PM EST, the company provided an update, saying that the “investigation is taking longer than expected.” There’s no word on when the Xbox Live servers will be back online.

The Xbox Network (formerly known as Xbox Live) regularly experiences temporary server outages and other connectivity issues, but this latest downtime was significant enough that fans took to social media to voice their frustration.
Call of Duty Fan Account Reported by CharlieIntel Call of Duty servers were among those affected by the issue today, and Microsoft will no doubt want to resolve the issue quickly, as the Xbox network is sure to be inundated with users over the next few days leading up to the Fourth of July weekend.
