Norwalk-based Xerox (NASDAQ:XRX) has acknowledged that its subsidiary, Xerox Business Solutions, was the target of a cybersecurity attack.
The company said in a press statement that the incident is limited to its U.S. operations and that it is working with third-party cybersecurity experts to investigate and further secure its IT systems. The company added that the incident had no impact on corporate systems or operations.
The company did not provide details about the nature of the attack, but the technology news site said: information security reported the breach as a ransomware attack by the Inc Ransom gang and announced the results in a post on X (formerly Twitter). Inc Ransom first emerged last July, triggering ransomware extortion attacks against companies across multiple industries.
