YouTube today announced the latest features for its premium members, Shared Updates Regarding top feature requests.
First, YouTube is “improving the download experience by addressing storage-related issues on your device.”
This will be an ongoing work stream for the YouTube team.
The team is also working on making “premium controls more accessible” by “reducing the number of clicks.” Today, when you’re watching a music-related video, you’ll see a pill-shaped “premium controls” button in the bottom-left corner of the player, which reveals a large sheet of playback, speed, quality, and stable volume controls.
To access all other types of content, click the settings icon in the top right corner, tap the gear, and then[追加設定]>[プレミアム コントロール]> Add/Remove Item.
YouTube is also addressing an issue where “the continue watching feature doesn’t apply to your queue, only to the video you’re watching.”
Google also said it “want our members to enjoy a high-quality viewing experience,” pointing to YouTube’s recently launched 1080p Premium Enhanced Bitrate.
In addition to the premium features, YouTube is working on “expanding our existing service to more locations” and “introducing new plans and exploring ways to let you share benefits with friends in the future,” currently limited to YouTube Premium Family ($22.99 per month for “up to five family members living at the same address”).
